Phonemes and Rhyme with Alphabears

My mini lesson is geared for K-2, but mainly Kindergarten. The state Common Core State Standard it covers is Phonemic Awareness: CCSS RF.K.2- Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). The digital quiz, online videos, and online, interactive worksheet allow for the student to achieve the level of an Empowered Learner from ISTE. In this lesson, students will gain phonemic awareness and recognize sounds that rhyme. We will be participating in choral/unison reading where the students repeat and read with me.

The digital assignment the students will be completing is an interactive worksheet from wizer.me. In this digital worksheet, there will be the two videos that we watched during the lesson to be a review for the students for when they complete the assignment at home. Following the videos will be a matching exercise where the students will match words that rhyme followed by a multiple choice section where the students will practice to isolate, identify, classify, and substitute phonemes.
