My mini lesson is geared for K-2, but mainly Kindergarten. The state Common Core State Standard it covers is Phonemic Awareness: CCSS RF.K.2-  Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). The digital quiz, online videos, and online, interactive worksheet allow for the student to achieve the level of an Empowered Learner from ISTE. In this lesson, s tudents will gain phonemic awareness and recognize sounds that rhyme. We will be participating in choral/unison reading where the students repeat and read with me. Pedagogy For Inclusivity

I chose to dive into pedagogy for this blog post and found two great articles that further my learning of new tactics to carry with me into my classroom one day. The first article I read was "Creating A Welcoming Classroom For Students With Special Needs" written by Jennifer Gonzalez. I was immediately attracted to this article because I have always had a patience and love for working with kids with special needs and one of my greatest goals each year will be to ensure that every student, no matter level of ability, receives the needed supports and tools to reach their educational potential in my class. I loved this article by Gonzalez as she recites Jam Gamble's suggestions for regular ed teachers on how to make their classroom more welcoming. The Internet has put our world into a time of instant gratification. When arguing over some fact at the dinner table: Google it, when wanting to find a new place for dinner: Google it, or when wanting to see what an old is up to: find them on social media. The Internet has the potential and power to be an incredible learning tool but it is all in how people utilize it. I grew up going to sleep away camp, 3,000 miles away, in Pennsylvania. When I reflect on how the Internet has impacted my communication and sense of community, I instantly think about how it brought me to my best friends in the whole world. I lived ten months of ichatting, skyping, emailing, and following their lives on Facebook until the two months I had to be face to face with them. Because of these services, it was made so easy, and now is even easier, to keep in touch and feel as if our separation is not from one end of the country to the other.  Another example of the Internet creating a sense of community
